Opportunity for Mechanically Inclined Student

Unified Valve Group is currently looking for mechanically inclined students for the following shops Grande Prairie (AB), Bonnyville (AB), Red Deer (AB), and Fort St. John (BC). These opportunities are part time with the possibility of full-time and or overtime hours. 

Experience in pressure safety valves, machining, and or pressurized equipment are considered an asset but are not required – Unified Valve Group will train.

Responsibilities:

• Making repairs to valves
• Assembling and breaking down new or used equipment
• Inspecting, repairing and testing equipment
• Field service work as needed
• Tear down and troubleshooting of customer owned property for inspection, repair, reassembly and testing
• Assembling, testing and painting of new or used wellhead/tree sections
• Courteous and professional communication with customers, vendors and Unified Valve Group Team Members
• Adherence to Unified Valve Group’s Safety Policies and Procedures
• General shop maintenance and up keep including storage, equipment clean-up and shipping and receiving as needed

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience
• RV/PSV, machining and or pressurized equipment experience an asset
• Completed or in progress technical certificate an asset
• Strong problem-solving ability with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoop
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as alone with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and write clearly
• Must be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-site
• Shop and field work is required - travel and working flexible / irregular shifts and hours are a requirement
