Description

Foreman

Unified Valve Group is currently looking for a mechanically inclined Foreman for our team in Bonnyville. This may be the role for you if you are a detailed-oriented problem solver that enjoys keeping busy and being challenged. This role will be supervising a small team independently and reporting to the General Manager, Operations. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of direct experience in a valve shop environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day planning, direction and supervision of shop staff and shop activities, oversight and guidance provided by General Manager, Operations
  • Manage and lead technicians and other staff at multiple levels of competency, verify timeliness, accuracy and completeness of tasks, and provide direction and guidance
  • Organize, prioritize, distribute and manage work orders and tasks
  • Review and approve all jobs before being released
  • Diagnose, evaluate and source solutions to problems, including technical problems and issues
  • Ensure adherence to UVG Quality and Safety Program, including ensuring adherence to procedures, processes and required PPE
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are safety and work ready, tag non-complying equipment and tools
  • Courteous and professional communication with customers, vendors and Unified Valve Group Team Members
  • General shop maintenance and up keep including storage, equipment clean-up and other tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Previous Steam experience is required; steam ticket is an asset
  • Understanding of IOL processes and procedures is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Valve Technician and minimum of 1 year as a Tester
  • Previous experience performing hydro testing up to 3,000 PSI required, experience performing In-line testing would be an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset
  • Experience with pressurized equipment
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and experience
  • OEM Training and Unified Valve Group Training: Tech Level I; Level II; and Tester; or similar
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoop
  • Must have good computer skills, previous experience with ValveTek and GreatPlains an asset
  • Must be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-site
  • Must be available to work flexible / irregular shifts and hours as needed
