Supply Chain Manager

Unified Valve Group is seeking a Supply Chain Manager who has extensive experience managing supplies and inventory and is a proven problem solver. This role will be responsible for procurement and purchasing, cost reductions, increasing inventory turns, warehousing, inventory control and tracking, intercompany transfers, order entry and management, delivery, logistics and return systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and managing processes and procedures that increase efficiencies and Unified's ability to respond to customer needs as well as decrease delays, carrying costs and lost opportunities due to gaps and shortages in the supply chain
  • Implementing and managing centralized procurement and purchasing processes and procedures
  • Reviewing the age, quality and carrying value of inventory, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing effective and efficient inventory controls
  • Assisting in moving slow moving inventory by finding potential buyers
  • Reviewing Great Plains for appropriate use, data integrity and information flow between modules
  • Managing vendor and supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts
  • Responsible for managing inbound and outbound logistics including custom clearance, intercompany transfers and delivery to clients
  • Manage return systems including warranty programs in conjunction with Quality Program
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of procurement and inventory management strategies
  • Assist with various projects as a member of the management team
  • Maintain direct and effective lines of communication with all managers
Qualifications:
  • 7 years of relevant experience including project management, cost accounting and in drafting legal contracts
  • Previous oil and gas industry experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce with a focus on economics, business administration, statistics, manufacturing or management
  • SCMP designation an asset
  • Exceptional communicator and customer service oriented 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Very strong computer skills and strong ability to quickly and effectively learn and adapt to new software and technology 
  •  Advanced Excel skills
  •  Experience with MS Great Plains Dynamics an asset
