Description

Valve Technician

Unified Valve Group is currently looking for a mechanically inclined Valve Technician for our team in Calgary. This is a great opportunity to work mainly in a shop with the possibility of on-site work. If you are a self-starter that enjoys keeping busy, being challenged, and having opportunity for growth, this may be the role for you! This position is for permanent fulltime work.

Responsibilities:

  • Making repairs to valves
  • Assembling and breaking down new or used equipment
  • Inspecting, repairing and testing equipment
  • Field service work as needed
  • Tear down and troubleshooting of customer owned property for inspection, repair, reassembly and testing
  • Knowledge and experience with high pressure air and/or liquid testing
  • Training to be provided for testing valves on steam
  • Courteous and professional communication with customer, vendors and Unified Valve Group Team Members
  • Adherence to Unified Valve Group's Safety Policies and Procedures
  • General shop maintenance and up keep including storage, equipment clean-up and shipping and receiving as needed

Requirements:

  • PRV/PSV experience
  • Instrumentation an asset
  • Machining experience an asset
  • Pressurized equipment experience an asset
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and experience
  • Technical certificate an asset
  • Strong problem-solving ability with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoop
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and write clearly
  • Must be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-site
  • There is the possibility of being required to go in the field. Travel may be required as well as overtime hours
